Very reliable base vehicle and a great conversion (Carrick conversion via Direct Campers) to which we've added some nice touches such as the alloys, awning, seat covers. A genuine daily driver, and we've used as a second car for the whole time we've had it. The base van is a SWB Transit Custom, first registered 30.11.2012. It is a 2.2 litre diesel, 6 speed manual which pulls great and gives good economy. Key features include Cruise Control/Limiter, Elec windows and mirrors, auto lights, auto wipers, retractable mirrors, heated windscreen, rear parking sensors, Bluetooth etc.
The van has very low miles at around 46500 miles and MOT until end November. Full service history with last service end November 2018 at 35000 miles. I upgraded the wheels with a cracking set of Wolfrace Alloys carrying Falken ZE914 235/50/R18 tyres, all with good tread. The van has a tow bar with 7 pin electrics. These vans are like granite - it will not let you down. The van is registered as a Motor Caravan on the logbook. The conversion was professionally done in 2013 by Direct Campers - it is called the'Carrick' conversion. Features include, gas canister storage, carbon monoxide alarm, hook up, EC155 Power Supply Unit and relay/ charger to leisure battery, Propex heater (Heatsource 2000), VanX black out curtains throughout, Sargent EC50 control panel, 2x 240v plugs, 2x 12V cigarette sockets in rear and 1 in the cab, 2 burner stove, sink with water pump, waste water pipe to underside, on board water tank with refill from the exterior, Waeco fridge/ freezer, grill, table, 2 sliding windows in the rear for ventilation, strip LEDs. The rear is fitted with a 2 seat rock and roll bed, with custom leather covers which match those fitted to the front 3 seats.Pop top roof is fitted which houses a second double bed and 3 windows in the tent, the bed base being lifted/lowered using gas struts - all very tidy. Loads of storage in the shape of 3 large cupboards in the rear and space under the double passenger seat. Huge luggage space also underneath the RNR bed/ rear seating. The passenger double also swivels 180 degrees to provide another seating option in the rear.
Last year we also fitted a Fiamma F45S awning, in black, which has been fantastic for us. As with any vehicle there are a few very small niggles, and I believe in absolute honesty in these auctions, so here goes. The passenger side heated windscreen is inoperative - I think its just the relay.
There are 2 patches on the tent part of the roof (see pictures) - totally watertight but they are there. A small nick in the table (see picture) and some curbing on the passenger front wheel (see picture). Come get a fantastic van offered without reserve. I'll have a tear in my eye to see this go, but we are struggling to get the family in it anymore so it needs a new home.
Any questions welcome and will survive the most thorough inspection. Ready to go - I'd drive it to the south of France tomorrow without hesitation. PS - the van currently carries a cherished number plate which will be removed prior to sale. The camper will revert to its 62 registration.
